A 2 year old boy died Saturday night during a pool party at a Denton Subdivision.  Police said they were alerted to a report of a drowning at the Lakeview Ranch development shortly after 9:30pm.  The toddler identified as Solomon Tusant, had been pulled from the pool by adults who were trying to revive him when paramedics arived. 

The child was taken to Denton Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:37.

A 21 year old Fort Worth man was accidentally struck and killed near his sport utility vehicle, which had apparently stalled in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 E near FM1171 early Monday.  Michael Duffey had gotten out of his Honda CR-V which was partially in the road, about 2:30am 30 miles north of Fort Worth when he was hit by a Ford F150, the Northlake police report.

It’s unclear what was wrong with Duffey’s vehicle.  We don’t know if he was out of fuel, but his car was not running when we got there.

Four motorcyclists killed near Dallas, a Houston man has been jailed on four counts of criminally negligent homicide after his car swerved into oncoming traffic on a highway near Canton, killing four people on motorcycles.  Jose Luis Pena of Rosharon was  being held on $2million bail in the Van Zandt County jail.

The crash occurred near Canton, about 60 miles east of Dallas.  According to one witness, the vehicle was swerving in its lane and then crossed into the other lane and struck the motorcycles.  The dead were identified as Bruce Melvin Bricker, and his wife Shannon Rhenee Bricker of Highland Village, who were on one motorcycle and Steve Austin Claterbaugh of Rowlett and his girlfriend Kathleen Dolores Smith of Wylie were on the other motorcycle.

Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a Garland man and sent three other men to the hospital Thursday night.

No charges have been filed in the crash, which occurred about 10:45 p.m. on the Sam Rayburn Tollway near Hebron Parkway in Carrollton.

A group of 15 sport bikes was traveling north on the tollway and approaching a man riding a Harley Davidson in the center lane when one of the sport bike riders ran into the back of the Harley Davidson, police said. Two other sport bike riders lost control when they ran into the debris from the first crash.

One of the sport bike riders, Asdrubal A. Gomez, 25, died at Baylor Hospital, where he was transported via air ambulance.

Two other motorcyclists, 20-year-old Braulio Estrada and 41-year-old Eric Santiago, were transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital. Estrada remains in critical condition, and Santiago has been released. Both men live in Dallas. Estrada, alone among the motorcyclists, was not wearing a helmet, according to police.

Eric Nelson, a 46-year-old Whitewright resident who was riding the Harley, was taken to Parkland and later released.

The crash closed northbound lanes of the toll road for about four hours. Lanes were reopened for the morning commute.
